OTHER INFORMATION
ALCOHOL
Alcohol is not provided but you are welcome to make your own arrangements or let us do that for you. At the time of booking just provide us with a list of your requirements for both soft drinks and alcohol and we can arrange to have the drinks waiting for you when you board the vessel. The drinks will be supplied at Kimberley bottle shop prices and all accounts must be settled prior to departure. Fruit juices, fresh water, milk, tea and coffee are all supplied.
MEALS
All meals are prepared fresh on board the vessel. We are in the Kimberley so expect the food to consist of the freshest seafood available. Enjoy the succulent Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Golden Snapper, sweet Mud Crabs, and abundant fresh Oysters. Other dishes include quality steaks, chicken and pasta dishes along with fresh salads and abundant fresh fruit. Desserts are served with all evening meals. In the morning wake to both continental and cooked breakfasts. Morning tea and pre-dinner snacks are served to complement daily activities. Hot and cold drinks are available 24 hours a day. Passengers with special dietary requirements need to advise us at the time of booking. It will be our pleasure to accommodate your needs but advance notice is required.
LUGGAGE
All luggage should be kept to below 10kg per person. We suggest all baggage be soft to ensure easy stowage on board. A small day pack is recommended. All linen, towels and main toiletries are supplied. You will require your personal toiletries such as deodorants, sunscreen, moisturisers, insect repellants, etc. Some of our passengers have taken over 1500 photos while on board. So ensure that you have ample film before departure. A set of binoculars are worth their weight in gold. Dress is neat and casual, very casual! Remember you are in a remote tropical area and while the days are balmy, the nights can get mild.
LINEN AND LAUNDRY
Top quality linen and a range of pillows are supplied on board and changed every seven days. Towels, hand towels and face washers are also supplied. There is a modern washer and drier for your convenience. We do however recommend using as much lightweight drip-dry type clothing as possible.
LIBRARY AND AUDIO
The K2O has a modern audiovisual system that allows all video and digital cameras to be connected for review of your day's photos. We have a small library of books and films for your enjoyment and a computer is available to copy disks (these can be purchased on board).
FITNESS
Daily activities cater for various degrees of fitness and your degree of participation is your decision. We do, however, suggest that to get the most out of your adventure you are in at least average physical condition for your age. Physical activities include fishing, hiking, beach/bush walking, swimming, etc. To participate in each of these you will be required to transfer from the main vessel to the customised tenders.
The nature of the Kimberley environment and the remote location mean that passengers could face various dangers. Crew on board are trained in first aid, but we also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance.
ACCOMMODATION SHARE POLICY
If occupying the cabin on your own, you will pay a single supplement of 50% extra. If you decide that you would like to share your cabin with a fellow same-gendered passenger, we can advertise for another person, and the 2nd fare is only refunded to you if/when the 2nd person is booked into your cabin.
MEDICAL & RISKS
We strongly advise that you arrange comprehensive travel, cancellation and medical insurance, at the time of booking. Passengers with any medical conditions should make them aware to the company seven days prior to departure or at the time of booking.
Medical ailments or accidents during the trip should be reported to the Captain immediately. Emergency evacuation is available for severe medical reasons, at the customer's expense.
PASSENGER HEALTH AND RESPONSIBILITY
The passenger admits a full understanding of the nature and character of the vessel and the scope of the activities contemplated by the passenger during the Cruise (including those relating to off vessel activities such as excursions in the vessel tenders, snorkelling and diving) and assures and undertakes to the carrier:-
• That they are in good health and will be able to undertake the Cruise and the contemplated activities;
• That they will effect travel insurance sufficient to cover and limitation of liability against the Operator;
• That they accept the risk that they may suffer from sea sickness;
• That they have disclosed any physical or mental disability requiring special attention or treatment at the time when the reservation for the Cruise was made;
• That the passenger accepts that a medical certificate certifying fitness for travel may be required at the Carriers request, and if any passenger has had surgery less than three months prior to sailing, that passenger must submit a letter from a qualified physician stating that he or she is fit to travel. The Carrier reserves the right to deny passage if a passenger requires care and attention which the carrier cannot adequately provide and this decision may be made by the Carrier in its sole discretion;
• Any charges incurred by passengers for medical reasons including but not limited to physicians, surgeons, hospitals, off vessel accommodation, medication, diagnostic facilities, air ambulance evacuation or ground ambulance shall be the sole responsibility of the passenger;
• For the safety and comfort of all passengers smoking is not permitted in the vessel except on open deck spaces;
• And the passenger agrees to indemnity the Carrier from and against all claims, costs, charges and fines or penalties arising as a result of any claim made against the carrier in this respect.
